  • Gerald and Laura Morrison (15+ years of fostering children) from Waukesha County were honored in November by Sen. Julian Bradley for their work that included multiple placements, adoptions, and family reunifications.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha is closed for interior renovations through July that will include plaster repair, painting, and new flooring. The church will host a community Rosary service Friday at 6:30 p.m. to welcome parishioners before work begins.  The Waukesha Freeman

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Muskego family has raised over $5.5 million for early access treatment for children with Sanfilippo syndrome. The milestone has helped 14 kids join a one-year therapy program beginning in July (donations through the campaign continue).  FOX6
  • A Muskego family raised over $5.5 million to fund early access treatment for children with Sanfilippo syndrome after their daughter Liv was diagnosed. Community members have rallied behind the initiative as a sign of local care.  FOX6

  • Pewaukee resident Dan Carney transformed his health by taking up speed skating at age 50 and competed at the U.S. Olympic trials on Tuesday at Pettit Center, setting national + world age-group records while coaching younger athletes.  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
