EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Banting Elementary in Waukesha and Hmong American Peace Academy in Milwaukee were named 2025 National ESEA Distinguished Schools for improving student achievement; they will be honored at the national conference in Denver from Feb. 10 to Feb. 12. FOX6
- ➤ Hamilton High School welcomes local children ages 3 to 5 to spring Play Group. Held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from April 9 to May 22 at Hamilton High School — the $35 session pairs preschoolers with high school students gaining classroom experience. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ High school students in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties are building backyard projects — a challenge designed to spark interest in construction careers. Their work will be on display next month at the NARI Spring Home Improvement Show at State Fair Park. FOX6
- ➤ The Waukesha School District will close Bethesda, Hawthorne, and the former Whittier at the end of this school year and is exploring options like partnering with Park + Rec and possibly relocating Richardson School for community use.
