  • The Waukesha Service Club awarded $100,000 in grants to 31 local nonprofits in 2025. Recipients include The Food Pantry of Waukesha County and Blessings in a.  The Waukesha Freeman

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Hanon family built a rainbow igloo in their Pewaukee front yard using 200 blocks of ice over about a week. The structure lights up at night and has become a lively spot for neighborhood fun until warmer weather melts it.  TMJ-4

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Waukesha district officials updated the Student Services Committee that families responded strongly to the school choice and enrollment acknowledgement process after months of communication (reflecting growing local engagement).  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Arrowhead High School’s proposed bus changes—designed to cut costs and adjust schedules for staff days—are raising concerns for feeder districts like Lake Country due to earlier start times for younger students; district leaders meet today to address the schedule disruptions.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • The Student Services Committee recommended planning for a recovery high school to support students committed to sobriety; the program has received state planning grants + guidance from the Association of Recovery Schools and is set to serve a small group in September.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Pewaukee Librarian Peter Blenski and six librarians nationwide named Jonathan Fenske’s Stop That Mop! as the 2026 Geisel Award Winner and selected three honor books for checkout at Pewaukee Public Library + Bridges Library System.
