- ➤ Nicole and Russell Tretow are breaking ground on their dream home in Vernon this week on a 1.78-acre lot located across the road from the proposed Breck Athletic Complex + they expressed concerns about noise, traffic and flooding while planning to finish construction by late summer or early fall. - ➤ Four junior hockey players are balancing morning practice at Pettit National Ice Center and virtual schoolwork through eAchieve Academy. Coach Matt Doman said enrollment could grow fivefold in the fall if academic standards are met (open enrollment is available). FOX6

- ➤ Members of the Lac La Belle Management District held town hall meetings and will form committees to study water quality, aquatic plants, fish stocks and horsepower limits on the lake. - ➤ Residents along Lac La Belle back proposals to address lake health issues. The management district plans to designate 38% of the lake as a no-wake zone in 5ft-deep areas and confine wake boats to deeper waters — pending ordinance votes by Oconomowoc and Lac La Belle. TMJ-4
- ➤ The state Assembly approved a bill on Feb. 19 to let the Department of Natural Resources create a sandhill crane hunting season— a move aimed at addressing local crop damage—and the bill now moves to the Senate before needing the governor’s signature to become law. The Waukesha Freeman

- ➤ Neighbors of the Lavinia by the Lakes project filed suit on Monday in Waukesha County Circuit Court, saying construction over two years has caused cracks in walls and foundation damage to their house (their home lies mere feet from the project) and they ask the court to stop further work. - ➤ Parents competing for tickets to the state wrestling tournament expressed frustration after the event sold out before qualifiers finished — officials advise those without tickets to contact their coach while reviews of the process continue. TMJ-4
