- ➤ A large grass fire near Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road on Sunday forced evacuations in the Chapel Hill Drive neighborhood as local crews fought shifting flames and strong winds that sent smoke as far as Lake Michigan before containing the blaze by 5 p.m.—it was completely extinguished by 6:15 p.m. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ No injuries were reported after a large fire on Wednesday night engulfed a single-story pole barn at a Waste Management facility at 559 Progress Dr. in Hartland—fire crews contained the blaze by 5:37 p.m. and continue to inspect for hotspots. The Waukesha Freeman

- ➤ Oconomowoc police have used the FLOCK camera system in its first year to quickly recover a stolen vehicle and connect evidence in a computer theft case worth $871,000—plans call for adding two cameras and further data review. The Waukesha Freeman

- ➤ Ingleside Hotel has launched Lights of Spring, an outdoor light show in Waukesha that features a three quarter mile walk with spring themed statues, animated creatures, twinkling Easter lights, glowing butterflies and floral displays. The event runs on selected dates in March and April 2025 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with last admission at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $7 per person (children 23 months and younger are free) with cashless transactions.
