- ➤ A chemical mix in the mechanical building of Aurora Medical Center triggered a hazardous materials response by Western Lakes Fire District at 4:53 p.m. on Wednesday in Summit; responders sealed the connecting tunnel to protect the main hospital and patients. The Waukesha Freeman

- ➤ High winds knocked out power to more than 27,000 customers in Waukesha County on Friday, forcing Plaza Garibaldi in Pewaukee (a popular restaurant) to close temporarily and risk losing fresh produce and drinks (a disruption during a busy service) until Energies crews restored power by late afternoon. - ➤ The school board approved the $2.5 million sale of the soon-to-be former Hawthorne Elementary property to Adeline Montessori School at Wednesday’s meeting — the vote was 8-1 after a closed session discussion on surplus property policies.
