On March 24, the owner of Brookfield Square’s cannabis kiosk removed its psychedelic mushrooms at the mall’s request and replaced them with gummies and wellness products—Ethereal Gold Dispensary said the change follows a review of its lease while police confirmed the products remain legal. Some shoppers expressed concern and Brookfield Ald. Mike Hallquist is working on a city ordinance that would require cannabinoid-derived products to be sold from a physical storefront.
