- ➤ ACAP announced Tuesday that it has secured a new garden space on land donated by the family of longtime volunteer Buzz Elwood (whose legacy lives on) in the Town of Genesee, replacing the county rental garden that closed last fall and ensuring accessible outdoor space for its popular program. - ➤ Slice of Waukesha, located at 294 W. Main St., is set to reopen in a few weeks as owner Joey Gudgeon finalizes permitting and takes total ownership following partner Henry Gacek’s retirement. - ➤ The Arrowhead School Board is still weighing whether to close the 70 year old South Campus— part of its split campus system that incurs extra safety and operating costs of about $750,000-$1 million annually—while planning meetings and workshops to gather taxpayer input for a possible consolidation if enrollment declines. - ➤ S.T.E.M. Saratoga students got sixth place at the Future City Project National Finals on Mar. 18 in Washington, D.C. The district says the result shows its support for student learning and innovation. Waukesha Times
- ➤ Waukesha Public Schools honored students for winter sports achievements on March 18 + school officials urged continued community support as spring activities begin. Waukesha Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will begin the week of March 30 a project to resurface Capitol Drive along a 4-mile stretch from Brookfield Road to 124th Street with ADA curb ramp upgrades and new traffic sensors.
