BUSINESS NEWS

  • Paul and Nikki Nickolaus have taken over The Kiltie drive-in, where car hops once delivered classics to parked vehicles, and the location (N48-W36154 E. Wisconsin Ave) is expected to reopen soon.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • The Waukesha County Business Alliance said all five bills it backed passed in Wisconsin’s legislative session and that the I-94 project advanced to the study phase; the group will build on this momentum in upcoming sessions.  Waukesha Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • GuitarTown Music Festival will debut on June 13 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cutler Park, where six bands will perform only original music to honor Les Paul. The free, family-friendly event is organized locally (by music advocates) and will offer vendor booths, interactive experiences, and guided historical tours.  The Waukesha Freeman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elizabeth Theis unseated incumbent Sam Hughes on Tuesday’s school board election—winning 52% of votes—to secure the At-Large seat on the Elmbrook School Board, with official results pending canvassing.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Incumbent Morgan Henning was reelected on Tuesday to the Hartland-Lakeside School Board with 1,576 votes (53.3% of ballots) over Kpher Evans, who received 1,374 votes, though results remain unofficial until canvassed.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Incumbents Jay Crouse and Amy Richards won reelection to the Kettle Moraine School Board on Tuesday in Kettle Moraine (they received 43% and 33.7% of over 13,900 votes cast against Katie Grillaert's 22.8%).  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Voters approved the Lake Country School District’s operational referendum on April 7, securing an extra $800K per year for four years to avoid dissolution — the funding will take effect with the 2026-27 school year in Hartland.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Gallagher, Koenig and Voit won seats on the Waukesha School Board Tuesday — the results remain unofficial until canvassed.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Tom Seiler won the Hamilton School Board At Large seat with 51.4% of the vote after Tuesday's election, defeating Cassie Hoehnen in a close contest. The vote totals remain unofficial pending canvassing.  The Waukesha Freeman
