- ➤ Dan Downing has been named the 2026 honorary fair marshal by the Waukesha County Fair, recognizing decades of service to youth agriculture. He will be honored at the Junior Livestock Auction on July 17 at (5:30 p.m.). The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Former county clerk Meg Wartman died Wednesday after a battle with cancer and is remembered for her supportive leadership and warm hospitality in the community + dedication to family. - ➤ The ProHealth Care Foundation has named ambassadors (Ginni Hicks, Stephen Schaut, and Laura Lau) to support the 2026 Walks for Cancer events on May 2 in Oconomowoc, Mukwonago and Waukesha; they will share their cancer journeys and help raise funds for research and patient care. - ➤ Hartland native and Arrowhead High graduate Max Bredeson was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the first fullback selected in the 2026 NFL draft on Saturday, joining his brother Ben in the NFL.
