- ➤ Oconomowoc police shot a federally protected sandhill crane on April 28 after it repeatedly damaged a resident's property on South Maple Street—USDA-Wildlife Services confirmed the permit and a DNR game bird ecologist said the bird would likely have stayed because relocation is usually ineffective.
