COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Milwaukee Diaper Mission and CBS 58 are running a Mother's Day Diaper Drive from April 24 to May 11 to help mothers get diapers and wipes. CBS 58 anchor Amanda Porterfield visited a drop-off point at a US Cellular store in Brookfield on May 9—sharing details on how to donate.  CBS58
  • Joseph and Maggie Henderson were awarded certificates by the American Red Cross on Friday for quickly saving their father William Henderson’s life when he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest at the Baptist College of Ministry in Menomonee Falls, where he had come to visit them. Maggie immediately called for help and Joseph performed CPR from his training (taken over five years ago) while his CPR trainer Grant Hodgins also received an award.  CBS58

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, students graduating from Carroll University will listen to Carrie Toffelson—an Olympic athlete turned broadcaster—deliver a commencement address sharing her experience of overcoming a critical lapse at the 2004 Olympic track trials and finding a path in life through perseverance.  TMJ-4

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The $23.9 million resurfacing project on Les Paul Parkway will begin May 12 in Waukesha—work will run in two phases with northbound lanes worked on in 2025 and southbound lanes in 2026 while part of the New Berlin Recreation Trail is closed. DOT crews will replace old pavement and update intersections from Arcadian Avenue to Sunset Drive to improve traffic flow.  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
