  • On June 5, Friday Night Live will test a new DORA rule that allows patrons to carry alcoholic drinks from local venues in designated downtown zones, with conditions such as ID checks, wristbands and tamper-evident containers (guidelines aim to support local businesses and ensure public safety).  The Waukesha Freeman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Oconomowoc Area School District projects a slight mill rate drop from $5.79 to $5.78 for the 2026–27 school year (saving about $4 on a $350,000 home) even as the tax levy and equalized property value are expected to rise by roughly 3.41% and 3.5%.  The Waukesha Freeman

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Bethesda Park in downtown Waukesha experienced flooding that damaged its grass and trees from high water in August and April. City crews plan to begin vegetation repairs this fall (cleanup includes tree removal to improve water flow) near the Fox River.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Muskego and Delafield are reviewing local ordinances after a sharp rise in social media complaints about e-bikes and scooters in Waukesha County, and local police have posted state law reminders for riders to be 16 or older and follow the rules.  TMJ-4
