CRIME NEWS

  • Waukesha police confirmed on Friday that someone called defense attorney Anthony Cotton’s law office—threatening to kill his family if he did not drop the case against Maxwell Anderson—who is accused of killing and dismembering Sade Robinson in Milwaukee.  FOX6
  • Thomas Felser, a Pewaukee bus driver who was charged with assaulting a child, now faces three additional felony counts + one for first-degree child sexual assault and two for sexual misconduct after new security footage from his routes between April 2 and May 23 revealed further allegations, and he remains in jail on $350,000 bail.  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
  • Benjamin Froschmayer, 30, was ordered to nine years of inpatient care plus a concurrent two-year probation after he resisted arrest and struck officers on July 25, 2023 when he went to file a complaint against a neighbor in a Waukesha parking lot, resulting in injuries to the officers.  The Waukesha Freeman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A water leak from an overflowing science lab sink caused catastrophic damage to the network servers at Mukwonago High School — forcing the Mukwonago Area School District to cancel all schools on May 30 while repair teams worked to restore the systems, with classes expected to resume Monday.  TMJ-4
  • Catholic Memorial High School seniors earned more than $17.9 million in college scholarships after graduating on May 23 — the awards include full tuition scholarships and direct college admittance — school officials said.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the City of Waukesha Finance Committee recommended an agreement with the Waukesha County Community Foundation to establish a Parade Memorial Fund—designed to maintain the downtown and Grede Park Christmas Parade memorials following the 2021 incident. The donor-designated fund is part of a pooled endowment with a 7.5% return goal after expenses, and a Memorial Maintenance Project Team will propose an annual budget for council review.  The Waukesha Freeman
