  • Rosie and Wendy Booth—recognized for nearly 60 years of volunteer service—were named the 2025 honorary marshals for the Waukesha County Fair. They will be honored at 5:30 p.m. on July 18 during the County Executive and Fair Marshals’ Junior Livestock Auction at the Insight FS Livestock Coliseum.  The Waukesha Freeman

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire damaged a two-story, 10-unit apartment building near Carroll University on Maple Avenue on Friday—firefighters arrived at 3:35 p.m. and controlled the fire in five minutes, displacing residents from two units while causing smoke and water damage, and investigators have not yet determined the cause, with no injuries reported.  FOX6

  • Boardman Clark, a full-service law firm from Madison, opened its new Brookfield office at 18650 W. Corporate Drive on June 4—aiming to support its growing metro Milwaukee client base, attorney Sarah Zylstra said.  The Waukesha Freeman

CRIME NEWS

  • Waukesha Police are investigating the theft of 20 catalytic converters from the First Student School Bus Co. parking lot (1505 Arcadian Ave.) on Thursday, an incident that delayed school bus routes and led metal suppliers to add protective cages to new converters.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A $40,000 fundraising campaign has begun to buy ballistic helmets and body armor inserts for officers in Oconomowoc and Police Chief James Pfister said the equipment will keep officers safe on high-risk calls at home and when assisting nearby communities. Donations can be made at the police station on E. Wisconsin Ave or online, and an event will be held on July 22 at Wine Maniacs—tickets are $125 and include live and silent auctions, food and wine.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • Mia's in downtown Waukesha hosts monthly themed dinners where guests enjoy innovative dishes that blend science and food — a style perfected with weeks of planning by owner Beau Blask and his team.
