The Waukesha Emergency Overflow Shelter, renamed Sentry House because of its location at Sunset and Sentry Drive, reopened after repairs costing $100,000 fixed damage from two sprinkler bursts in December and February.

The shelter now serves up to 40 single adults while families move to another facility — leaders said the insurance company is still investigating the cause.

On Monday, June 9, a multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 164 in the Village of Waukesha left a 91-year-old woman and a 92-year-old man dead — two other drivers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Waukesha County Technical College has launched the Midwest’s first Applied Artificial Intelligence lab to put AI theory into real projects, said lab director Sarah Buszka.

The lab will support a new AI degree program aimed at business and manufacturing and help local companies connect with AI experts—boosting regional innovation.
