- ➤ Delafield man Stephen Anderson, 61, was charged after a Sept. 12 fire that began in his Vista Park Court apartment and on Thursday entered a plea agreement that found him guilty on four charges with mental disease or defect, resulting in a 30-year state care commitment with 281 days credit for time served—authorities said he failed to alert residents during the blaze. - ➤ Waukesha Common Council will consider a proposal during Tuesday's 6 p.m. meeting to hire security guards for the South Street parking ramp — a 450-space facility at 241 South St troubled by vandalism, unauthorized overnight occupancy and hazardous debris. The plan costs $34,580 per year, fully covered by the Waukesha Parking Utility — and the council will also review an ordinance for designated outdoor refreshment areas downtown. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ The Waukesha Plan Commission approved GE HealthCare’s final site and architectural review for its Experience Center expansion at the Waukesha Campus, which adds 20,000 square feet and updates the entry lobby as part of Project Renaissance. The commission also recommended a Conditional Use Permit for a local bike repair shop at 1230 E. Broadway—allowing it to operate within a Single Family Residential District under city zoning rules.
