- ➤ In 2024, all H-1B petitions filed by Finance and Insurance employers in the Waukesha Times area were approved by USCIS+ they achieved a 100% approval rate, which is higher than Wisconsin’s 99.1% state average. The sector also saw an 18.2% drop in filings from 2023. Waukesha Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction begins this evening on WIS 59's east bypass in Waukesha and will continue through Friday as crews replace pavement, upgrade signal equipment, and relocate a water main with storm sewer installation near Sunset Drive and Arcadian Avenue — Sunset Drive and southbound WIS 59 will be closed so drivers should use detours via Tenny Avenue or South East Avenue. - ➤ A six-mile stretch of Highway K in Waukesha County sees heavy traffic and a high crash rate as nearly 100 dump trucks face delays near the Lannon Stone quarry. County officials propose a $100 million plan to widen the road to four lanes and add an overpass at freight tracks — a project to be discussed with community feedback at a Sussex Civic Center meeting tomorrow. - ➤ Clay Ljungberg, known as FarFetchedFitnessWisco on TikTok, ran a 27.5-mile ultramarathon inside Albrecht’s Sentry Foods in Delafield while pushing a shopping cart to show that fitness can happen anywhere.
