- ➤ Salvation Army in Waukesha is holding a three-week Christmas in July Red Kettle Campaign starting July 14 at 10 Kroger-owned Roundy's locations to raise $25,000–$30,000 for homeless shelters and food programs. Volunteers can sign up for two-hour bell-ringing shifts held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at seven local sites (excluding Sundays) through an online process. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
- ➤ The Waukesha Kennel Club will host Wisconsin's largest dog show from July 25 through 27 at the County Expo Center, where more than 1,700 dogs will compete in events such as Conformation, Dock Diving, Fast Cat, and Obedience for a $500 Best in Show prize. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day — and will also feature family-friendly activities including a PeeWee competition and vendor booths selling dog treats and supplies. - ➤ Organizers say safety is a top priority at the Waukesha County Fair, which runs from July 16 to 20 at the Expo Grounds and draws thousands of visitors with over 120 vendors; some events like the truck and tractor pull have been canceled as forecasts predict rain each day—officials remain in constant contact with the National Weather Service and will issue severe weather alerts 60 and 30 minutes before impact. - ➤ Waukesha County Supervisor Darryl Enriquez found that 12 of his Green Bay Packers season tickets had been transferred to a fraudulent email account—he filed a police report and the Packers canceled the stolen tickets while working with Ticketmaster to restore his access and caution others to check their accounts. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, the school district held a session at the Blair Administration Building to ask parents for input on four consolidation plans that may include changing grade levels and closing schools such as Bethesda Elementary. Enrollment had dropped from over 13,000 to 10,500, and district leaders plan more meetings — they will review feedback collected via an app as the planning continues. The Waukesha Freeman
