Tall Pines Conservancy will hold a guided Bus to the Barns tour on Aug.
8 at Ravensholme Farm Preserve in Waukesha (3-6 p.m.). Participants will visit local farms, meet conservationists, and enjoy refreshments and live music (advance registration required).
Butler Middle School Motorsports Club held a hands-on learning session at the Milwaukee Mile where Hurley Haywood discussed a 1917 Miller (Golden Submarine), Dana Mecum showed a 1931 engine, and Mick Anderson presented a 1961 Watson Roadster.
The club uses real-life engine work, teamwork, and science to spark student learning.
New Berlin mother Preeyanuch Chanwongwanit underwent an awake kidney transplant using spinal anesthesia through Northwestern Medicine’s AWAKE Program and was discharged 36 hours later from a Chicago hospital.
She is now managing her children’s schedules and planning a trip to visit her parents in Thailand.
Village officials in Menomonee Falls are considering a new 52-home luxury subdivision, The Reserve at Lannon Road (houses priced at $700,000 to $950,000 will be built on a 40-acre site at the northeast corner of Lannon and Mill roads).
The Village Board will discuss the rezoning on Aug. 3, and if approved, construction will begin in fall 2027.
The Sunset Crossings strip mall at 120 E.
Sunset Drive was sold for $7.3 million earlier this month; the property, built in 1970 and renovated in 2016, houses Crunch Fitness, Rogan’s Shoes, Dollar Tree, and PetSupplies Plus and was purchased by Sunset Crossing Re LLC from Henry Resources.
