🏛️ Government
County officials expect to approve an offer to purchase the former UWM campus in September & then work with the city on zoning for future residential development with demolition set for 2027.
The 75-acre site closed in 2025.
The Waukesha Cemetery Commission recommended a phased plan to transform part of Prairie Home Cemetery into a new cremation garden as demand increases and existing niches near full capacity.
The project will add columbaria and walkways over several phases + be funded through future capital improvement planning.
Beginning Monday at 10 a.m., bonus antlerless deer harvest authorizations for the 2026 gun deer season will sell online and at license sales locations, with Forest (Monday), Central Farmland (Tuesday), and Southern Farmland (Wednesday) zones and full access on Thursday.
Buyers must know their management zone and hunt details.
