- ➤ After last week’s flooding, Samaritan’s Purse mobilized dozens of volunteers to help families clear out water-damaged homes across southeast Wisconsin. Operating from Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, the group said it will continue cleanup efforts as long as work remains—local organizer Jaime Keoshian confirmed over 175 active work orders. TMJ-4
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Morgan Geyser, the Slender Man defendant, remains at Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh after her conditional release in January as she has not found a group home; a facility in Sun Prairie withdrew its offer in late July—her attorney said she remains stable while the search continues. - ➤ A Milwaukee woman was charged with hit-and-run causing injury and operating-after-revocation after her car struck a bicyclist while leaving Raising Cane’s on Friday and fleeing the scene; she will return to court on August 28. The Waukesha Freeman
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ According to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, 3,361 students enrolled in Kettle Moraine School District for the 2024-25 school year — a 1.8% drop from last year. The district covers 12 schools with Kettle Moraine High School leading with 869 students. Waukesha Times
