  • At Elmbrook Humane Society, dogs including 8-year-old Samantha and mix Ava are featured in a humorous video shared on social media—promoting their unique traits to help increase adoptions. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fatal bus accident happened in Sussex when 5-year-old Finn Katona tripped after exiting his bus at Silver Spring Intermediate School on Jan. 2 and fell in front of a moving bus—his parents have urged changes to the chaotic transfer process after video evidence showed crowded conditions that put children at risk.  FOX6
  • On Aug. 26, a 59-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a ditch filled with 3 feet of water on state Highway 16 near Pewaukee at about 5:30 a.m.—he was later found unresponsive and pronounced dead at a hospital.  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

  • Paul Davis is restoring nearly 960 homes damaged by the August 10 flooding while managing a waitlist of about 1,600 customers—timing is crucial to prevent mold and save belongings.   • A former Milwaukee Tool IT worker was charged with stealing over $1M in tools by using his access to create and then delete over 115 orders so shipments left without payment — police say he may have resold the tools.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Brookfield police are investigating a former Milwaukee Tool employee who allegedly manipulated the ordering system to create 115 orders from March 2024 to March 2025—resulting in losses of over $1 million in tools after a freight company flagged a suspicious shipment to a Wauwatosa address.  FOX6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Tony Evers has formally requested a presidential disaster declaration after historic flooding caused over $33 million in residential damage and nearly $100 million in damage to Waukesha County—state, local, and federal teams are now assessing recovery needs to speed aid to those affected.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • The Waukesha O&L Committee voted 3—1 to send a draft ordinance to the Common Council that would change the city attorney from an elected post to an appointed role serving without a fixed term. Current attorney Brian Running and local officials warned that the change could limit a small pool of qualified candidates and affect the office's independence—debate continues in the Council.  The Waukesha Freeman
