  • Pewaukee will host many community events this month—starting with the Grillin’ and Chillin’ waterfront music event on Sept. 10 at Pewaukee Lake Beach where live music and food pantry donations are featured, followed by the rebranded Pewaukee Professional Partners meeting on Sept. 11 and a five‐chamber networking event on Sept. 17 at Rustic Manor—with Halloween Fun Fest set for Oct. 18 featuring a dog costume parade.  The Waukesha Freeman

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Waukesha County Business Alliance is urging the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to study expanding I-94 from Highway SS to the county line—supporters say the study will help ease congestion and support the region's growing economic development, including projects like Costco in Pabst Farms and a Kikkoman facility in Jefferson.  The Waukesha Freeman

CRIME NEWS

  • Three Milwaukee women, already charged with retail theft in Kenosha, are accused of stealing glasses from a Brookfield LensCrafters store in December and January—warrants have been issued in Waukesha County for their arrest.  FOX6

  • Griffin McCarley (23) turns scrap metal into art through welding and brings joy to his community. He sold his pieces at the Oconomowoc Farmers Market (Journey21 booth) and uses his hobby to manage his disabilities while earning money for college.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • Hamilton School District will host two free grief presentations to help families cope with recent losses during the school year—one for adolescents on Sept. 23 at Hamilton High School Library and one for young children on Sept. 30 at Silver Spring Intermediate School.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • Jeanette Scherer, a lifelong Waukesha resident who grew up with five sisters and one brother in a three-bedroom house built by her parents, is celebrating her 90th birthday today — a milestone reflecting her deep roots in the community.  The Waukesha Freeman
