COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Families in Waukesha County can enjoy a variety of children’s events this October — including book discussions, storytimes and playgroups at local libraries and community centers starting today and running through Halloween. Waukesha Times
- ➤ More than 1,200 walkers filled the streets in purple during the annual Waukesha County Walk to End Alzheimer’s—raising over $240,000 to fund local care, education and research programs. Donations remain open through Dec. 31 to further support families across the county. The Waukesha Freeman
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Peter Zehren is the new executive director at the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum and he wants to share local history to show how the American experience has shaped our community—he will host a Freedom and Fashion meet and greet on Nov. 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with Mayor Shawn Reilly. He also plans to open the Waukesha Springs exhibit in spring next year and to hold a Lunch and Learn series on the Grace Lusk trial in October. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Waukesha County has several entertainment events planned in October at the Waukesha Public Library — including a movie matinee on Oct. 6, science festival showcases on Oct. 17 and 18, and a cabaret-themed evening on Oct. 24. Waukesha Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ WisDOT announced its intention to recommend the I-94 Western Waukesha project to the Transportation Projects Commission (TPC) after it received the highest score among nine corridors. The project will later begin an environmental study while local leaders and business groups continue to support its progress. Waukesha Times
