ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Waukesha received permission to pull water from Lake Michigan and is now choosing a route that may run treated water through the Root River in Racine — fisheries say this could boost water levels while local groups worry about pollution and scarce fresh water. The City Council will meet in closed session on Tuesday October 17 to discuss buying public property for the project. CBS58

- ➤ Waukesha proposed a $160 annual fee per household for garbage and recycling collection to cover budget shortfalls from state tax limits and rising costs.
