ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Tall Pines Conservancy permanently protected 82 acres on the north shore of Lake Five in Richfield with a conservation easement donated by the Midwest Province of the Jesuits—this land once served as the summer home for the Pfister-Vogel family and now acts as a retreat and buffer that protects the lake’s water and wildlife.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Maxwell put a temporary hold on his order that would have required the state Elections Commission to verify that voter registrants are U.S. citizens—he did so after the state Attorney General filed a motion to stay the rule. • The Waukesha Common Council approved a $160 annual fee for garbage and recycling services to create a separate revenue stream that directly funds these services.
