  • A new mural and updated signage have brightened Smart Asset Realty’s building at 200 W. Main St. in downtown Waukesha. Locals are already noticing the bold splash of color on the facade.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Coffee shops in Waukesha County have sparked conversation about domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month—using coffee as a meeting point for sharing resources and support—to help residents learn where to get help.  FOX6
  • Phantom Lake YMCA Camp will host The Hollows for Halloween with over 3,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns and live characters such as witches, wizards, and mermaids to create a magical family event. Brian Kramp previewed the setup in Mukwonago yesterday — describing it as one of the season’s most awe-inspiring displays.  FOX6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School District of Waukesha administrators presented full analyses of consolidation options (Options E, F, and G) on Wednesday as part of the Optimizing Our Future initiative to address declining enrollment and potential school closures. Board members debated changes to grade configurations and school usage while scheduling a School Board workshop to examine the proposals further.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In 2024, all 12 H-2A visa petitions filed by Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting employers in the Waukesha Times publication area were approved according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services data—this approval rate exceeds the national average and matches the seasonal visa count from 2023.  Waukesha Times
  • The Waukesha Fire Department is hosting an open house today at Fire Station — 5 at 3015 Summit Ave from 9 a.m. to noon to mark National Fire Prevention Week. Families will see rescue trucks and equipment while learning safety tips and viewing educational videos.  The Waukesha Freeman
