- ➤ Milwaukee native DJ Slater published his first horror novel Legend Has It, a tale set in Mukwonago where a failed resort turned haunted attraction inspires a legend—six college friends face ten floors of terror on their way out. - ➤ After weeks of discussion and community input, the Pewaukee School Board voted on Monday to update its cellphone rules — banning them during class and hallways — while allowing phone use at lunch. The new policy will remain in effect through the end of the semester and will be reviewed in January. The Waukesha Freeman

- ➤ First responders from Waukesha and other areas were honored at the state Capitol this week for their service during emergencies like the August floods and a Delafield apartment fire—Officer Jose Arellano, Lt.
