- ➤ Waukesha native Robyn Marcoux, who battled glioblastoma and loved Prince, died in Nov. 2023; her brother Rod Luther now honors her memory by founding the Rockin’ 4 Robyn Foundation to fund research. A benefit concert will be held on Oct. 25 from 7—11 p.m. at The Cue Club, with local acts and a specialty drink donating half its sales to the cause. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Tonya Lyons began her role as executive director of the Hope Center four weeks ago and is working to support Waukesha residents facing homelessness and rising costs of living. A local native, she values compassion and plans to expand outreach programs+ partnering with local groups to distribute essential services and donations. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Hamilton High School students are hosting a Homecoming Dress Drive to support the Cinderella Project by collecting gently used formal dresses until Oct.31—community members can drop donations at the school's front office or at collection bins in room S5. - ➤ Pacific Bistro in Delafield said it will stop serving lunch starting Jan. 1—because of higher food and material costs and fewer lunchtime diners—and will now serve dinner from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday while closing on Sunday. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Waukesha County companies Permobil, which makes the Comfort Custom Seating System, and TNT Rescue Systems, which makes extrication tools, made it to the final round of the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest hosted by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and Johnson Financial Group. Voting began Thursday and will remain open until noon Oct. 23 — the winner will be crowned at a Business Day event in Madison. The Waukesha Freeman
