- ➤ FOX6 and Steinhafels are hosting a one-day coat collection drive on November 12 at three Steinhafels locations in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha and Oak Creek. Donors can visit from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in Menomonee Falls, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Waukesha, and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Oak Creek—while the first 200 cars at each site donating at least four coats will receive ticket vouchers to upcoming family shows. - ➤ Ashley Kirchenberg’s six-year rented home in Pewaukee turned to ash Monday morning when a fire spread from burning ashes outside—leaving her with only the clothes she wore to work and causing the heartbreaking loss of her cat while a GoFundMe campaign and community support help her plan a rebuild. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The School District of Waukesha will close Lowell, Hawthorne and Whittier schools next school year to save $3.5M due to declining enrollment. Parents remain worried about losing specialized services at Lowell (a hub for deaf and hard of hearing students) while officials say similar support can be provided elsewhere. FOX6
- ➤ Kettle Moraine School District has asked for sealed bids to replace the parking lot at Cushing Elementary; vendors must submit their bids by 1 p.m. on December 10 at the district office at 563 A.J.
