EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hamilton schools informed families that law enforcement investigated concerning social media comments about Hamilton High School made by a student who does not attend the school—no credible threat was found and the sheriff’s department will maintain an increased presence this week following parent concerns at the School Board meeting.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • A Sussex Hamilton High School senior was suspended for severe vandalism after she removed a Turning Point club poster that made her uncomfortable amid confusing club approval steps—students had learned the poster was connected to a club overturned by a student council vote and later approved by the principal.  TMJ-4

FINANCE NEWS

  • Bank Five Nine introduced its Achieve Credit Builder loan program at its Hartland branch to help young adults build credit by offering a $1,000 loan repaid over two years with a $20 closing fee—every payment is reported to credit bureaus. The program does not require a credit check and is designed to help users build or rebuild credit reliably.  FOX6

  • The Western Lakes Fire District Chief proposed banning aerators on Oconomowoc lakes to reduce dangerous ice buildup—officials say the move aims to protect public safety.  The Waukesha Freeman

HEALTH NEWS

  • Nearly 200 people gathered on Sunday at Smoke on the Water BBQ (Okauchee) for the fourth annual Take It to Heart fundraiser that supported families facing congenital heart disease by directing proceeds to the Herma Heart Institute at Children’s Wisconsin; Nashotah residents Mark and Mary Olson organized the event, which has grown since its start in 2022.  The Waukesha Freeman
