On Monday, Kohl's named Michael Bender its permanent CEO after serving nearly seven months as interim leader and replacing former CEO Ashley Buchanan (fired in May).

The board unanimously chose the retail veteran (with 30 years experience) after a careful search as the company works to slow a drop in sales.
