  • On November 25, 102-year-old World War II veteran Robert Spangenberg was honored with a handmade Quilt of Gratitude at Steeple View Senior Christian Community—he also received certificates from New Berlin officials for his service during the war. His recognition highlighted a rare tribute to one of the few remaining veterans, with community members showing deep appreciation for his sacrifice.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • What’s In The Bowl Pet Shop opened its first franchise location in Delafield at 3163 Golf Road—offering whole-food pet products and nutrition advice under local owner Joell Salfer, a nurse practitioner with nearly 30 years in health care. CULTURE NEWS

  • Over 200 fans attended a screening of 'Song Sung Blue' at Marcus Majestic Cinema in Brookfield Tuesday night—enjoying live Neil Diamond music by Kevin Kamin and free Kopp’s frozen custard that brought a nostalgic charm to the event. At 8 p.m., CEO Greg Marcus, along with Hugh Jackman and director Craig Brewer, addressed the audience to celebrate the film’s homage to Milwaukee and its people.  TMJ-4

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On November 12, Catherine Callahan, the School District of Waukesha's homeless liaison and longtime school social worker, told board members how the district helped students facing housing instability by offering immediate enrollment, transportation and free meals. Teachers are urged to notice early warning signs such as absenteeism and missing supplies, and since June Callahan screened 262 students for housing instability.  The Waukesha Freeman
