COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Oconomowoc Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will hold a Wreaths Across America ceremony at 11 a.m. on Dec. 13 at St. John Chrysostom Cemetery (1111 N. Genesee St.) in Delafield; community members can join the tribute.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago will host its annual Santa Breakfast from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Saturday, where donated toys will be collected for local children.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Friends of Prairie Home Cemetery (a nonprofit group) is hosting a fundraiser at Culver's, 840 W. Sunset Drive, Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A portion of purchases will support construction of a new Military Section at the cemetery.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • For the 2026 season, Lake Country DockHounds plan to raise $250,000 through the Hounds Care Initiative – Pay it Fur-ward to support local nonprofits, awarding up to $10 for every game ticket sold at WBC Park. Local schools, charities, and organizations are invited to register and take part.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • Bee Well Café owner Calaya Nelson said she faced legal threats from the Mukwonago Chamber when she used 'Midnight Magic' for her family event during Saturday’s holiday event and is launching a new small business collective (Chamber officials reaffirmed support for their executive director).  The Waukesha Freeman

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lynn Gaffey, a longtime art advocate who helped shape downtown, died on Nov. 27 at 74. Her family and art partners said she sparked the first Art Crawl and built lasting creative opportunities + a legacy that continues to guide the community.  The Waukesha Freeman
