  • Families bundled in coats and bright holiday accessories gathered trackside in downtown Oconomowoc Wednesday evening as the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Train arrived.  The Waukesha Freeman

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire at Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego left the Vanhoff family without a home just weeks before the holidays — all members survived — and a sister launched a GoFundMe campaign to help them rebuild.  TMJ-4
  • Bass Bay Brewhouse in Muskego, a family-owned restaurant operating since the 1950s, was engulfed by a massive fire on Friday, Dec. 12, leaving the property significantly damaged as firefighters from over a dozen communities worked to extinguish the flames.  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

CULTURE NEWS

  • Founders Gallery at the Center for Life Enrichment on the Shorehaven campus hosts the Lake Country Carvers Holiday Wood Carving Exhibit and Sale through Dec. 31 at 1306 W. Wisconsin Ave. It features wood carvings from a group (launched in 1981) that meets monthly and supports Shorehaven’s mission for seniors.  The Waukesha Freeman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Waukesha schools said each bullying complaint is investigated using strict criteria, as administrators interview witnesses to decide if behavior qualifies. The district saw a 20% drop in complaints compared to last year and is enhancing programs (restorative practices) to support students.  The Waukesha Freeman

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Waukesha homeowners on Hunter Road remain in limbo four months after August floods as the city study meant to identify the cause of repeated flooding is delayed. The street flooded three times this summer — local surveyors were seen gathering data as residents await a clear plan for repairs.  TMJ-4
