  • Waukesha Salvation Army leaders said that Red Kettle campaign donations are behind target as the effort wraps up next week. They are urging residents to contribute if they can.  FOX6
  • St. Vincent de Paul held its 40th graduation for the Getting Ahead financial literacy course at Waukesha’s First United Methodist Church on a cold December night. The program, available for anyone aged 18+ and funded through thrift shop sales + donations, helped participants set practical goals to improve their finances.  FOX6

  • A financial program in Waukesha now helps residents manage money better; launched recently—offering budgeting guidance to locals facing financial challenges.  FOX6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School District of Waukesha sent school placement emails on Thursday that had errors in data merge which left families confused for the 2026-27 school year. Superintendent Jim Sebert said the district is correcting the issue and will send updated notices soon.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • A judge ruled December 5 in favor of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District after a group of New Berlin residents (134 homes) filed a petition to detach from it to join New Berlin’s school district, ruling the petition void from the start. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Almost a year after a tow truck driver died helping a disabled vehicle on I-94 near the Village of Summit, Wis., lawmakers expanded the Move Over law to protect drivers by requiring them to change lanes if safe or slow down when they see any vehicle with hazard lights.  TMJ-4

  • Waukesha County installed two naloxone vending machines in local healthcare settings to provide access to life-saving supplies as community efforts continue to combat fatal overdoses.  The Waukesha Freeman
