- ➤ Brookfield man Terry Heidmann, diagnosed with ALS, has served as Santa at the Sensory Club of Pewaukee for nearly 20 years for children with autism. Friends converted his scooter into a sleigh so that he+wife Inge can keep the joyful tradition alive. TMJ-4
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The school district apologized for sending erroneous placement emails due to data merge issues (which led to conflicting bus eligibility and school assignments for some families). Officials said corrected placements and guidance will be emailed soon and families must reapply by Jan. 30. The Waukesha Freeman
- ➤ Data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction shows that Waukesha County districts enrolled 32 Pacific Islander students in the 2024-25 school year—22% lower than last year. The students account for 0.1% of the county's total enrollment of 58,602. Waukesha Times

- ➤ At a meeting Tuesday, aldermen reviewed revised plans for a mixed-use development at Pabst Farms (Harvest project) that swap some rental units for owner-occupied homes. The proposal now includes retail plans and a potential satellite library to serve residents near I-94. The Waukesha Freeman
