COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Robert Jude, co-owner of The Elbow Room in Brookfield and Cedarburg, is in critical condition with liver and kidney failure after a medical emergency last weekend, and his business partners as well as customers have started a GoFundMe campaign (which has raised nearly $100,000) to help cover his family’s expenses.  TMJ-4
  • The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County will move its nonprofit food warehouse to 1705 S. Prairie Ave after the Plan Commission recommended approval on Wednesday. The pantry will operate Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours on Mondays and Saturdays, and the remodel will add parking and a new client entrance (despite local traffic concerns).  The Waukesha Freeman

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Waukesha school placement emails on Thursday contained errors that mistakenly listed students’ secondary enrollment instead of the primary assignment for Butler and Les Paul middle schools, district officials said. The district will send corrected emails with updated boundary and transportation details today once the data is verified.  The Waukesha Freeman

  • Nordic Specialists is offering cross-country ski rentals, sales, and custom fitting at Lapham Peak for all skill levels — a chance for both beginners and seasoned skiers to enjoy winter trails in our community.  The Waukesha Freeman
