ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A bald eagle did not complete its catch on Sunday when a largemouth bass fell free and local resident Albert Cutler used a hockey stick to dislodge the fish from his truck on Highway 16. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Delafield — The Wisconsin Policy Forum finished a six-month project for Lake Country Fire & Rescue that helped fix disputes over the fire department's cost-sharing method among the seven local communities. The group studied formulas used elsewhere and held meetings with municipal leaders to agree on a new plan by May.  The Waukesha Freeman
  • Recreational ATV and UTV groups in Oconomowoc are working to close a loophole that lets vehicles registered in other states drive on Wisconsin roads and highways. A new bill was introduced in the Assembly to address safety and funding issues—police have already pulled such vehicles over to educate owners—while local advocates seek clearer driving rules.  TMJ-4
  • Officials and residents in Pewaukee are worried about safety at the intersection of Lindsay Road and Highway 164 because drivers face poor visibility and a dangerous blind spot.
