Permobil in New Berlin and TNT Rescue Systems in Hartland are now in the top 16 after 15,000 people voted in the contest to name the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.

The contest will run until Tuesday at 5 p.m.—the Top 8 will be announced Wednesday.

A new documentary on Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne will premiere Monday, October 6—at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City, and it will detail their life and work at the historic Ten Chimneys estate in Waukesha County, which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2003 and now supports American theater through its fellowship program.

Old World Wisconsin will host Halloween Legends and Lore this October at its museum at W372 S9727 Highway 67 in Eagle—running on Friday and Saturday evenings, October 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Guests will follow a map to explore over 20 ghost stories in Crossroads Village, with highlights such as the Hodag, Victorian séance and Baba Yaga, a 1930s costume party at Wittnebel’s Tavern, and family-friendly food served at the Clausing Barn beginning at 3 p.m.

The railroad crossing on CTH NN — located on East Veterans Way between WIS 83 and CTH ES — will close Monday for a five-day improvement project, and all traffic will detour via Holz Parkway and WIS 83.
